Over the course of a portrait sitting, an artist is reminded of a terrible incident that has unhinged her life. Slowly, she reveals the sad and shocking details of her self-induced abortion, turning the act of painting into a plea for compassion.

Born To Perform was created by Gemma and Matthew Marinus after identifying a need for upliftment and development of professional performing arts opportunities for young people. The vision was simple – to create a platform for all creative young people from all walks of life, all cultures and all socio-economic backgrounds to come together for the love of the arts and showcase their talent in a high-class international quality, professional show production. Born To Perform has established itself as the leader in South Africa for youth driven entertainment and arts education. All Born To Perform shows have gained rave reviews.

The Undone

Poster.JPG

Who do we really see when we look in the mirror? THE UNDONE follows the stories of three brave women who dare to say what's been left unsaid. In their stories, we discover what the face of resilience looks like against calamity. Their stories are an ode to life; the humour, the tragedy, the loss and the success of it all.

Written and performed by Serena Steinhauer, THE UNDONE is inspired by overcoming adversity. Under the expert direction of Alan Swerdlow and featuring original music by Bryan Schimmel, THE UNDONE joins three theatrical innovators in an exciting, thought-provoking production.
